Aaron Fansler

Aaron A.D. Fansler is CEO and Partner at FrontLine Cyber Solutions Corporation, where he leads the development of industry-leading cybersecurity solutions for industrial control systems (ICS) and critical infrastructure environments. With deep experience across systems engineering, applied mathematics, and both offensive and defensive cyber operations, he specializes in protecting critical infrastructure against cyber, social, and physical vulnerabilities.

Since 2002, Aaron has worked in assessing and exploiting vulnerabilities in ICS environments worldwide, including nuclear and non-nuclear power generation, manufacturing, naval facilities, and other complex operational sites. While at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) from 2006–2008. More recently, Aaron and his team have supported Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) by conducting security evaluations and testing of nuclear power plant environments.

Aaron has extensive working experience and relationships across U.S. government and intelligence organizations, including DARPA, DOE, FBI, CIA, NSA, DHS, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force, as well as major commercial organizations such as Framatome, Florida Power & Light, Siemens, Kinder Morgan, ERCOT, and Saudi Aramco. He has also been called upon to provide expert testimony and guidance to senior policymakers, including at the U.S. Congress and at state and local levels.

Previously, Aaron served as a Program Manager at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, leading R&D efforts on cyber network operations capabilities for ICS infrastructures and was awarded multiple patents. He also served as a member of the Technical Staff in PNNL’s National Security Division and supported the Department of Energy’s Field Intelligence Element. Earlier roles include work with the Air Force Information Warfare Center supporting offensive cyber, computer network operations, and red teaming. Aaron served 11 years in the military, including as an Air Force Intelligence Analyst and in the Army and as Intelligence Officer in the 19th Special Forces Group.

Aaron holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics (University of Colorado), an M.S. in Information Assurance (Capitol Technology University), and an M.S. in Computer Science (University of Texas at San Antonio). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science with an emphasis in Machine Learning.
